The city of Kake runs elections for the town of Kake. Results for the past elections can be found on this page as well as any information about upcoming elections.

Election Updates 

Our next city election will not be until October 2026.  Two city council seats, Ashley Padgett and Tessa Rostad will be open.  There will also be two school board positions open.

These are the results for the redone October 2025  city council, mayor, and school board elections. 

City Council: Hank Copsey and Jordana Grant were both reelected to their seats.

School Board: Heather Gatti and Corie Johnson

How do I apply to run for a public office? 

You can come down to the city office and grab a form to fill out or print off a form at home. (form coming soon)

Who can vote and how do I register to vote? 

Anyone who is 18+ and an Alaskan resident can vote. If you want to vote in city elections, you also need to be a resident of Kake. People who are going to turn 18 within 90 days of the election day may also register to vote.

Who can run for public office?  

Anyone who is 18 years old and a resident of Kake for at least 30 days before the election day can run for office.  You cannot be registered to vote in another community or state. 

 

How frequently are there elections? 

Local elections are held yearly on the first Tuesday in October. State and national elections happen according to the state and national election calendar.
