Organizations in Kake



The Organized Village of Kake (OVK) is the federally recognized tribe of Kake. They work to enhance the quality of life in Kake, preserve traditional knowledge, and help the culture grow.
Kake Tribal Corporation is the for profit corporation that was formed for Kake. They work to provide employment and opportunities for the KTC shareholders and their descendants.
There is one K-12 school in Kake. The school is divided into two main buildings, with a library/headstart and a music building on the same campus. Currently the school serves over 100 students.
Operated by SEARHC the clinic is open 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. If there is an emergency you can call and the clinic will open as needed. The clinic has two PAs and two Health Aides. They also help arrange medical travel and have a workout center and a dentistry clinic that comes in every few months.

Keex Kwaan Lodge is located directly down the hill from the airport. It is operated by OVK and can provide transportation to and from the airport or harbor. This is a two story lodge with rooms that look out over the historic cannery and water or face the main road in town.

This is a privately owned business operated by Patti Handy and her family. Located right on the water in downtown Kake, they have four rooms available year round. Patti also provides meals including breakfast and dinner. Transportation can also be provided upon request.
